Patrice Powers-Barker

Congratulations to Patrice Powers-Barker, as she has been selected as the 2026 Lucas County Fair Grand Marshal.
Celebrate Patrice as she leads the Lucas County Fair Parade on July 13th.
 
Patrice Powers-Barker is the Family and Consumer Sciences Educator with Ohio State University Extension in Lucas County. As a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), she leads programs in wellness, food safety, household budgeting, mindfulness, local foods, and universal design.
 
Patrice enjoys helping families evaluate their daily habits and set individual and family goals for healthy, smart living. Her background as a 4H member and her family history—granddaughter of farmers and an immigrant, daughter of educators and community volunteers—influences her dedication to community and education.
 
Patrice values family time, the four seasons of Northwest Ohio, visits to Lake Erie, and the resources of her local community.

Grand Marshal Requirements

- Must be a Lucas County resident for the last five years.
- Must have been or currently involved in the community in some way.
- Must be willing to have a picture in the paper, on social media, and on TV.
- Must have a nomination form submitted.
- Nominee may not have been previously selected for the Grand Marshal position
- Nominee cannot be a current Lucas County elected official or current Lucas County Agricultural Society Board Member
- Nominee must be willing and able to attend the Parade on Monday, July 13, 2026
